I’d like to major in Neuroscience. So what are my chances for 2011?

I can identify with the coming from a crappy public school. They will be glad you are taking the hardest classes available to you. The only statistic that might be lacking is the standardized test score. You would be a great candidate if you could raise that. Still, as it is, you have a shot. Your acceptance will largely depend on your essays and possibly your interview. Good luck!

higher test scores

An objective indicator of your academic aptitude and achievement will be strong standardized test scores. Given that your public school is not all that competitive, you will need to demonstrate your ability to do well compared to your peers nationwide. Otherwise, I would say that your chances are much better than that of the snowball’s. ;)

Good luck!

Thanks everyone.

honestly, given her background and her valedictorian status, i think pomona will roll out a red carpet for her, regardless if her standardized tests are slightly low.

That’s very kind of you to say PsykkSpy4rmChina, thank you. But I know I can get better test scores to become a better candidate. I’m currently studying for the SAT and I think can raise my ACT score to at least 30 if I retake it.

i agree with PsykkSpy4rmChina.
i think with her background, even with a lower standardized test scores, she will be admitted quite easily.

and now that she’s going to retake the ACT and is studying for the SAT, her chances are even higher.
