So 3 tests and one year later....

and I am still stuck with the same score! A 29! What am I suppose to do? My parents think I’m just psyching myself out. I took Trig/Pre Calculus this year, thinking it would up my math, but it’s only gone up once, the other times it was at or below what I got sophomore year. And the other scores have only stayed about the same. Any thoughts?

I’ve been told that when you go up on the ACT, it happens in a burst all at once.

So insead of going from a 26 to a 27 in a few months, you might go from from a 26 to a 29 in a year.

Have you done any prep yet?

A 29 in nothing to frown upon either. Many people would kill for one.

Just do some prep, it helps a lot. Take practice tests, and you should be able to go up a few points by the beginning of next year.

I was in a similar situation. Last year I prepped a TON for the ACT and took it in october. I got a 29. I wasn’t happy or mad about it. It’s a good score the first time through. I took the test in april. I prepped quite a bit for this test but not as much as the first test. I got a 29 again. Now I was getting frustrated like you. I decided to take it again in June. I did not prep much at all for this test. I was truly expecting a 29 and would have been absolutely ecstatic if I got a 30/31. I got a 32 on that test. I don’t know what I did on that test different from the others. The point here is that if you keep taking it you will probably hit one right, even if you don’t prep all that much.

yup pccool52 is right
