so about that app

when did everything turn in their application? the deadline is quickly approaching (in about an hour and a half)…any interesting stories to go along with it?

Not to sound obnoxious…but I don’t think that anyone who is frantically trying to submit their app before midnight, would take the time to stop their work and expalin their situation to us…

But it would be interesting to hear some stories…

what class did u guys write about? i wrote about math…oh btw avenger…no offense taken…haha

I’m RD but I’ll humour you: I wrote about my ap biology class. :D

we’re learning about genetics and inherited traits. SO COOL!

That was my favorite part of the entire year. We did the fly experiment, which was my personal favorite lab all year. And the thing is, it’s something that people are doing research with now, which is pretty sweet. :)

fruit flies? thomas hunt?

Fruit flies! Oh I miss that class so much fun! The fruit fly lab w00t!

haha i remember the fruit fly lab from last year!! my teacher accidentally burnt our initial flies in the incubator so we didn’t have that many. those were the days. now all there is for me is physics… yuck.

but anyway, i wrote my favorite class essay on ap euro

i feel so…DUMB…

okay, so neither the common app nor the jhu supplement asks for AP test scores…so, being the brilliant person I am, i didn’t remember to include my THREE 5s on chem/us history/calc ab…uh oh.

I wrote about AP Biology too actually… although mine was about chemical evolution… that section still sends shrills down my spine… it changed my entire outlook on the world at large…

Mine was more general. I talked about how it interested me in biochemistry/molecular biology and really was the first time I actually “enjoyed” going to class- it wasn’t just a chore. It was also the first time I had to do real labs, not baby labs where you don’t learn anything. :p

Cool guys!! Too bad i didn’t take AP Bio…it was either AP Chem or AP Bio and silly me took ap chem and am now stuck with a gosh-awful teacher!! (I like the material =D, jus the class/lecture/teacher is demeaning to the subject matter). Oh wellz…

I wrote about my Troy-Tech Internship course…that way I was able to talk about what I did during my Internship at JHH =D. Cuz my $10 was more narrative showing my personality and what I observed rather than waht I DID. And over several weeks, at that! Plus, since I wanna go into medical field, and this internship really opened my eyes into the life of a physician, so I thought it was appropriate =).

I jus hope the adcoms don’t get frustrated/upset that i wrote BOTH essays about JHU/Hospital/internship work…=/

I wrote about some research I did at a local university (its part of a class at my school)…

i wrote about ap psych, after deciding that two months of the class was enought for me to write a decent essay on it…

i wrote about my honors health science technology class since we go to the hospital to do internships and i want to become a doctor.

^^^ thats a good one…something unique…
