So am I destined for a life of mediocrity?

<p>After stumbling across CC and similar sites I have become increasing fearful of my future or lack thereof. Basically, I feel that because of my school and gpa I am going to be “crippled” for life. The ironic thing is I actually am very intelligent and have been able to “get by” with minimal effort but have been prevented any real success because of my preoccupation with acquiring/maintaining/improving my social life. I have also for the majority of my life been devoid of any sort of work ethic or motivation. So is my sentiment correct? Am I destined for a life of mediocrity? How hard is it going to be for me to get a quality job? On a side note, what types of positions should I aspire to get right now given my undergraduate record and minimal professional experience. Thank you. Your advice is greatly anticipated and appreciated.</p>

<p>Well your Gpa is over that 3.0 cutoff mark… umm but this statement would bother me more than the gpa… this is what will make you “destined for a life of mediocrity”… not your school or gpa b/c those are both solid… if i were you … id figure out somtin that youre passionate about… which will in turn help you w/ your lack of motivation… well hopefully… anyhow you need to start from teh source… the school honestly wont mean much 30 years down the road… but your work ethic will… anyhow goodluck</p>

<p>All a good school or good name college will do for you is provide you with opportunities in my opinion. Making a career of something and working hard is the real key to “having a future”. All is not lost, actually nothing is lost if you change your attitude on what you can do and what is possible in your eyes.</p>
