So, can I get into any good colleges?

School does GPA out of 4.6

GPA W 4.6
Rank 9/300
SAT: still waiting, but i got a 195 on my PSAT with a 72 in math, so lets assume that stays the same and my other scores go up (61 on both other sections)
SAT II: didn’t take them yet, but im hoping for 700+ in both Math IIc and Literature
No AP tests - I know mine are gunna be horrible so I’m not even gunna send them in
Course schedule: took every single honors or AP class available to me
I have only 1 C (in hnrs Pre-Calc) but I got an A+ the next marking period and ended up with an A- for the year in that class, though I do have quite a few B- and I’d say overall I have like a B+ average for high school
I’m also in my schools Computer Science Academy(though I really don’t want to do CS in college)

ECs:
Varsity wrestling since freshman year
Nominated for a HOBY award (don’t think my school ended up sending in the applications)
NHS
Community Service for NJ Special Olympics
Graduated from Hebrew High School
Active in Martial Arts since I was three years old
Work experinece

So anyway, those are pretty much my credentials as it stands right now. I just what schools it seems I can get into with this. I live in NJ btw.

BTW, I’m considering William and Mary

Possibly, but don’t get your hopes up. Maybe if you get a 2300 + on the SAT, then William and Marry might be a slight reach. But, I wouldn’t get my hopes up for H Y P if I were you.

lol, Im not talking about HYP. Im basically talking about colleges like William and Marry and less prestigious

tell us more: big vs small? location preferences? any majors you are thinking about? etc etc

William and Mary is a slight reach, GSW389, but less prestigious schools (George Tech, University of George, University of Texas, UCLA, Florida State, etc) shouldn’t be a problem.

really, you think UCLA? I thought that would be harder to get into.

But yea, huskem55, I’m looking for a school that will provide with good opportunities for either neuroscience or anthropology. I did a search on college board with those majors as the only limiting factors(that and 75% have GPA’s of 3.0 or above, lol) and only a few schools came up, Johns Hopkins Columbia, Dartmouth etc. William and Mary seemed the only one realistic for me which i guees now I know is not. Its funny though because I thought UCLA would be much harder to get into than William and Mary.

for neuro/anthro, here is a wide variety of suggestions to start you off (reaches towards the top, matches in the middle, safeties towards the bottom)

Brown
Hopkins
Colgate
McGill
UVA
Conn College
Colby
Union
UCLA
NYU
Texas
William & Mary
Muhlenberg
Northeastern
Pittsburgh
Alleghany
Temple
Drexel
Bowling Green
George Mason

i appreciate all the input, but seems as if theres a little discrepency in the responses so far… i await to hear more!

uhhh, its harder nowadays to be an average student than a good one, lol

You’ll get into UCLA no problem, NYU no problem, and with a little luck, you have better stats than my friend, and he got into Brown. So…who knows!

I’m not certain that UCLA OOS is a sure-shot for him. High SAT II scores would help a lot.

lol, very nice to two posts up

oye ve ! (im not even jewish!) youre just like me, except I think I could do better on my SATs, but I dont have any varsity sports (bodybuilding?)

PRiSM92289 oye ve ! (im not even jewish!) youre just like me, except I think I could do better on my SATs, but I dont have any varsity sports (bodybuilding?)

lol, you dont even know what i got yet. lol

I dont wanna come off as a ■■■■■■ bag here, but you got a 195 and depending on how intensly you study you can do much better or much worse, I did some review for the PSAT and got a 201 which was ok, but Im doing intense SAT review and looking to get a 2300…(check the sat prep boards for more info, its crazy)…

anyway good luck bro

how is that like a douce bag? everything you said is true.

bump(only time i will do this)

GSW389:

UCLA: Slight Reach (out of state)
