For various reasons ( had issues with my family / paying so I stopped caring ) I left UCR with a 2.0 and on academic probation.
That was 3 years ago.
I originally had transferred from SMC with a solid 3.0 and 55 UC units( 68 CSU units, I actually plan on transferring to a CSU , but I don’t see a forum for that and I figure you guys might know what I need to do ). When I contacted CSULA they informed I couldn’t transfer being in poor standing at my last school. My plan is to go off to SMC take a class or two( it was a very positive experience originally and I got my AA ) and apply to CSULA or CSUN.
I believe you have to deal with it at the campus in question. Couldn’t you take an extension course online, if necessary? Or a concurrent enrollment deal at your CCC?
You need to figure out how to get back into good standing with UCR. You should call them and find out what to do.
I have a similar question, in regards to “good standing”. I am a student in a community college that is on a quarter system. After this winter quarter, I will complete my IGETC, complete all my prerequisites, and have 90+ units to transfer. Thus, there is really no need for me to take any courses during the Spring quarter (which begins in 2 weeks). If I am accepted to a UC, is there an agreement/policy that requires me to be a full-time student in order to not be rescinded? I plan to one course (speech) in order to receive my associate’s degree. Of course, during this time I will be working/participating full-time at my current internship. I know each UC has their own policies, but if anyone can give me any advice, I would greatly appreciate it!
You probably should call the specific UCs and ask.
That should not be a problem, unless you have TAG’d somewhere, like Davis, that requires FT attendance. That’s what you wrote in your TAU, right? Just one course come spring and working, right? Part-time attendance is ok. (Even if you didn’t exactly put it that way in your TAU, it should still be fine.)
@luckie1367 i will do that. @lindyk8 i completely forgot about this. I have mentioned it in the TAU and tagged Davis, I remember the requirements were to be a full-time student in order for the tag to be approved. I will email Davis later today. Thanks everyone!
If you TAGed Davis, I think you need to be FT, unless you have a very good reason.
Yeah, you’ll most likely be out of TAG, but it is at their discretion. You went FT two other sessions. Good luck!
You could also consider taking a super-easy course, even one non-transferable P/NP just to have two classes. Still under FT, though. If they refuse TAG, you could just withdraw.
