So, CC is full of genius'. Is there any way i can get a 5?

I haven’t yet started self-studying for APUSH and have the AMSCO book. I plan on reading that twice and taking a few practice tests before the AP Exam. I also haven’t started self-studying AP Lang. I took my first practice test a couple days ago and got 27/55 questions correct 0__0. Is there any way i can substantially get that 27 to ~40-45? Do i have any hope for a 5 on either exam (hoping for a 5 on lang especially)?

Take more practice exams, and find out why you got those questions wrong. There isn’t really any good way to improve Eng Lang. You have a better shot at a 5 on APUSH than AP Eng Lang…

bumpp pleasee

Do lots of practice tests for both. The biggest thing for Lang I think is too memorize the literary terms (they are in most review books). You can probably also find a rough list online. Beside that, just getting used to the feel of the exam, and getting ready for the essays is really all you can seemingly do.

For APUSH, reading AMSCO twice should definitely help you a lot. If you take notes and try to learn most of that material (particularly large themes), you have a good shot at a 5.

Good Luck! :)

I would only recommend taking a full on APUSH exam once, so you can tell how to pace yourself. Taking the test will only do very little to help you learn the material though, because unlike Calculus or Chemistry there isn’t a handful of concepts you can learn at once to understand everything. You need to memorize facts after facts after facts, which means that rather than spending your time taking that lengthy test, you’d probably be better off reading the AMSCO book.

The DBQs and FRQs however are fantastic to do. Look at the ones on AP Central and do as much as you can while also reading the sample responses.

I read the AMSCO book one month before the AP exam and got a four. If you’re planning to read the book twice then you should be absolutely fine.

What does AMSCO stand for?

A Masterpiece Summoned defying all Combined Odds
