So . . . Chances anyone?

*I’m not quite sure if this would hurt me or help me.

At this point, I’m not really worried about my academics, but rather about my extracurriculars. They’re really school-centric, and I don’t know if that will affect my chances. Also, what should I do this summer to improve my application? I’m trying to decide between getting an internship and doing a ****load of political volunteering (and working a season of detasseling).

First of all, your experience with the Ron Paul campaign will not hurt you at all. Northwestern is not going to judge you by your political affiliation. If anything, they will see that you are passionate about politics and get involved. There are plenty of applicants with “Young Republicans” as an extra curricular. And plus, Ron Paul is a pretty cool guy.

Obviously your academics are beyond solid. Your extra curriculars aren’t bad either! You have leadership in most of the activities you’re involved in, and there is a central focused. I can see what you are interested in based off of your extra curriculars, which is important. For the summer, I think either would be attractive on your resume. Do what you would enjoy most.
