So . . . Chances?

Here are my stats: Any thoughts?

*I’m not quite sure if this would hurt me or help me.

You’re in. Apply early and you have a good shot for a scholarship.

36 on ACT? whats the /12 mean?

Also, I’m guessing 3.9 is unweighted?

Your stats are pretty impressive. You are academically qualified fo shooo

Hopefully I’ll get in and see you there =P

I got a 12 on the writing section (which in my mind is really weird, considering I didn’t even get to finish my essay)

And yes, the 3.9 is unweighted.

I’m not worrying about academics too much right now; I’m just unsure about how well-rounded/fleshed-out my extracurriculars are. A lot of them are school focused, and I don’t know how much community-oriented extracurriculars I ought to have.

And of course, should I or should I not mention the Ron Paul thing? Will they write me off as a loony or appreciate my passion and dedication (albeit to a lost cause)?

“You’re in. Apply early and you have a good shot for a scholarship.”

Yup.

if i were u, i’d be more worried about my chances to stanford, upenn, harvard, princeton, or any of the ivy leagues for that matter… the ron paul thing is alright though cause they can’t decide on a person because of political beliefs, so they will only see the dedication aspect of that.

Ahhh I see.

Yea man, you definitely have the grades/test score to get into the Ivies.
Your school EC’s definitely help you out a lot as being “unique” as in… not just someone who does it just to put it on their app… ya know?

Since you are in a lot of school EC’s, just make sure in your essay to talk about the one that you are the most passionate about.

Also, don’t forget community service!!! Colleges want to see that you spend your own free time volunteering to do good in the community =)

Reach.
GPA and test scores are too low.

"Reach.
GPA and test scores are too low. "

Yeah, I was worried about that.

Should I try retaking the ACT for a higher score, or could decent scores on my SAT II’s balance that out?

I don’t really think I can do much about my GPA, tho. Is there a way I can explain the grades, or should I just try and excel at everything else and hope it compensates?

Hahaha =)
Funnnyy

let’s hope the admin officers share your sense of humour ;)

Complete your entire application (including submission of school transcripts and recommendations) before the end of October. If you do, you will be accepted by Christmas and you should get a decent scholarship, possibly a full ride.

I wish people would stop asking questions they already know the answers to. Yeah we get it, your smart. Do you want a prize? And no I am not bitter because I will most likely get in to Michigan as well.

Sorry, I was just checking because I wanted to be sure I could get in (as a high safety). For some of my friends, UMichigan is a reach/dream school, so I was getting worried about whether I might be less qualified than I had thought for the school.
