Where in NY? We are from Long Island, and my son wants to go into government/politics and thinking the 5 year masters in public policy…Just got into JMU which also has a 5 year program in PP but REALLY wants to go to UMD

I’m from lower Westchester. Congrats to him! Maryland is my #1 as well and I’m planning on studying kinesiology to later get my doctorate degree in physical therapy.

I am a speech pathologist who works with PT’s in sub acute rehab facility (adults) Love the field, lots of opportunity for you…lots of luck!

thank you! good luck to your son too!

momof3boys, I am majoring in government and politics as well, thinking about the 5 year program. Maryland is ranked the highest in the DC area in the major. I did the overnight visit and it was awesome. I can’t wait to find out, going crazy! I live near Atlantic City, NJ. Maryland is my number 1 school and I’ve watched every video out there.

Haha I live right in the backyard of UMD just about 20 minutes away

UMD is my #1 too. I just feel kinda of pessimistic now because all my stats and ec’s don’t seem as good as everyone that posts here but I hope to major in Finance or International Business. I’m from PA btw.

@Fieldhockey2012…i’m from lower westchester as well!

OK so maybe I missed some of the stats of those interested in UMD…Here are my son’s: Weighted GPA is 3.75 Unweighted 3.5 ACT 29 He also worked with the National Democratic Party locally to get our county exective elected and went on multiple “Leadership Programs” in DC. Have no idea if this will cut it…He has gotten accepted into Penn State, UConn, JMU, SUNY Albany and Temple but really wants UMD…any ideas?

^ By my understanding the SATs are really important in the admission decision.

I’m getting nervous, too. In-State and want to double major - Government&Politics and History.

It’s only January 12…so many more days

My God, it’s the freaking 14th… I am going nuts. I’m having a tough time studying for exams because it’s so nerve wrecking. I love UMD to death and I’d likely cry once I get the letter. Either tears of joy for an acceptance or even a deferral or tears of sadness for rejection. I heard January 15th from multiple(not quite reliable) sources(read-word of mouth).

i’m just as insane as you are… and the 15th is tomorrow! what if decisions come out tomorrow?? OH MY GOODNESS

Tomorrow really? That’s a bit TOO soon…I think I may just go throw up

If a decision is made where does it show up? In the message center?

Yes right where you log in I think. I am getting neaseous just thinking about it. Let’s go with it! DECISIONS

It’ll be huge if decisions come in tomorrow!!

Well nothing so far…what about you guys?

Does it matter if it’s a Sunday? If they come today I think they’d come a little later

I’ll check every 3 hours or so. But I seriously doubt decisions will come. Maybe we’ll get an email beforehand?
