Thanks again for all of the responses! You guys have such useful information and insight. I really appreciate it.

And to elaborate a bit on why I feel so constrained, I know that this kind of thing is typically demonstrative of where one comes from. The grass always seems to be greener on the other side, regardless of where it is.

However, I think a lot of it has to do with my family’s farm. I’ve talked about that extensively on this forum since I’ve found it, and you’ve all helped me realize that it truly is okay to go to college when most of my family wants me to stay put on the farm. Now that I’ve attained peace within myself to study and feel good about it, I almost have this aching need for a blank slate. I’ve been cooped up in my little farming radius my whole life, and now that I’ve decided to choose my own path, I feel like skipping borders might prove useful and beneficial.

Compared to some other places out there, I’m sure SE Michigan is great. I know that we’ve got a lot packed into a few counties.

Nonetheless, I feel like my time here is done. I’ve harvested my crop, and now it’s time to rotate fields, if only for a season.

I hope this makes sense.

and for the kind words :)
