So Happy--Great Price on Vancouver Convention Hotel!

I have been mulling for some time, trying to find a reasonably-priced convention hotel for an upcoming meeting in Vancouver, BC. The official hotels are listed at over $200/night in the convention materials and I really like staying at those hotels because it’s on the shuttle route, close to the conference center, vetted by the folks running the event, etc. I came close to booking at a Days Inn that is nearby but read a LOT of comments complaining about noise (I’m unfortunately a light sleeper).

I decided to keep looking and just booked a hotel that promises to be just right! Best of all, for every 2 nights you stay, the 3rd night is 50% off; I’m staying 6 mights for less than the price of 3 nights at the convention rate! It even includes free parking if I decide to get a car! Of course, it’s non-refundable, so I will have to be sure to go, but I have every intention of showing up!

I guess persistence pays off! I am so happy, I even extended my stay by two days, so I can enjoy the city instead of just zooming in & out and spending all of my time inside the conference center. Since there are no daylight non-stop flights to my destination, I plan to stop in SF en route to getting there & visiting with loved ones before flying on to the conference. I’m looking forward to this!

We stayed in the Sutton Place Hotel on Berrard which was a nice 5 star hotel. Booked thru hotwire at less than $150/nite.

I wanted to know where I was staying, so I checked out several sites. I ended up with Delta Vancouver Suites Hotel with an average price of significantly under $150/night for a room with 2 beds. I really like that the entire hotel is smoke-free & was remodeled 1-1.5 years ago!

I presume you shopped at hotel sites online. Often better rates than the ones offered by conventions.
