…With thousands of other stranded passengers. I was attempting to fly from Michigan to Dallas. Weather forced us to divert to Memphis and Delta Airlines, bless their hearts, canceled the flight. After 5 hours it was apparent that we would be spending the night.

Uh oh. No more hotel rooms. People tryng to get anywhere have joined stuck here. So anyway, we’re going to try again in few hours to get to Dallas.

I have some interesting stories from other travelers and will to them later.

Fingers crossed!!!

You missed the opportunity for the Dylan quote: Got those Memphis blues again. From Blonde on Blonde.

The last time Delta did that to me they sent my luggage to Paris and I didn’t get it back for 2 weeks.

If you have to spend another day there is a town across the river in Arkansas (forget the name) that has at least a dozen motels.

Made it. Well me and my daughter. Hubby is still in Memphis and no one is sure where the luggage is. sigh

Winner story is the guy trying to get from Kansas City to Pittsburgh. KC to Memphis (Delta canceled that flight too). His new itinerary. Memphis to Columbus, OH to Detroit back to Columbus and finally to Pittsburgh. He wanted a case of beer.

I am not impressed with Delta buying NWA. And finally, what’s the deal with these tiny planes?

Cranky Silvermoonlock.

Just a head’s up for next time you get stuck somewhere and it seems as if all the hotel rooms are gone. Call Expedia.

Three years ago D2 and I got stuck in the Philadelphia airport on our way home. There had been a major computer glitch with the air traffic control that covers the entire east coast, so there were massive cancellations, etc. Everyone was looking for a hotel room, and all the places we were calling were booked. While I was working on it from the airport end, H was at home working on it. It was his idea to actually call Expedia, and they found us a room within three miles of the airport. It wasn’t the nicest of places, but it was a place to sleep after a very long day.

the problem this weekend in Mempjhis was the Int’l BBQ contest - many locals stay in hotels downtown to be closer to their sites - sorry about your delay.
