So How did I do with admissions?

ADMISSION RESULTS

  • ACCEPTED: Michigan, UChicago [EA], UCLA, UCB, Northwestern, Vanderbilt [Partial Scholarship], NYU-Stern [Likely letter], Cornell A&S
  • WAIT-LISTED: Stanford
  • REJECTED: Georgetown, UPenn, Duke [after deferral ED], Fordham…

LIKELY TO ATTEND: Vanderbilt or Northwestern

KEY STATS:

  • SAT I: 2320 [1520/1600]
  • SAT II: 800/760/780/760
  • GPA: rank is 18/520 [most of my As were a 90. I had 4 Bs in high school in academic classes. A 90 in my school is the same as a 100. The Bs were between 81-85]
  • EC (scale of 1-5, 5 being most significant): 3
  • Ethnicity/Gender: Indian [from India]
  • State or Country (if international): NJ
    School Type: Goodish Public

Recs: Ok, nothing out of the ordinary “this is a good student blah”
Essays: good

Not exactly sure what the question is here…but all the schools you got into are fantastic. Personally, I’m surprised you got rejected by Georgetown and Duke (would have expected waitlist at the least). But I think it’s a testament to how random the college admission process is. You have some really great choices to pick from and I don’t think you have anything to be disappointed by. Good luck.
