Am I allow to transfer college whenever I want and to wherever I want? Lets say I don’t like my college after getting out of high school, can I transfer after the freshman year?
It depends. Some four year colleges won’t take you until you have enough credits to qualify as a junior (like the UCs). You would need to check each school. For most you can change after one year.
You need to apply and be accepted to be a transfer student at another school. Generally if you apply for a transfer for soph. year schools will want to evaluate your HS record as well as your college record to date. And generally transfer students do not get merit aid (as it gets used to attract freshmen). Look online for specific school’s transfer policies and procedures.
