I was deferred Early Decision and decided to take some subject tests in the interim to boost my application. Will the following scores hurt me, help me, or have no effect on the admission office’s consideration of my decision? I’m personally pleased with these scores, but, you know, I’m not a Northwestern admissions officer.

I don’t think those scores will effect it one way or the other.
The much bigger question is how you did with your mid year grades.
Did they go up, down or stay the same?
It would also be helpful to know the rest of your stats.

They definitely won’t hurt. I think more than just show them about you as a student, they definitely show that you are dedicated to NU. You went out and did more college readiness testing when you didn’t have to, and that shows motivation.

And I agree with AVHS Dad, your mid-year grades will have a pretty big impact. But do send in those scores and let them know you’re still interested!

Oh. My grades were fine (B+/A/A-/A+/A+). Everything else is in check (or, hopefully, I wouldn’t have been deferred). I’ve also written them a letter of interest, submitted an update on awards, and sent a recommendation from the supervisor of an internship I completed first semester.
