So, I got rejected from a lower ivy early. Is applying to Yale a waste of time?

<p>collegeftw, sit down. You’re embarrassing yourself, there’s no need to go galavanting about swearing at everyone who seems to insinuate that Columbia is a lesser Ivy than Yale. You can argue that its equally good/equal in all aspects, but it doesn’t change the fact that Yale is frequently perceived as more prestigious and that Yale is simply more selective. </p>

<p>And yes, I’m aware I’m being a *****, but really, getting rejected sucks; no need for name-calling here.</p>

<p>I’ve been writing some different drafts of essays for Yale’s supplement, and I wrote about how perfect Yale’s unique linguistics department is (because it’s my intended major and a lot of schools don’t offer it). This should be a good topic, yes? (for the pretty much open-ended one)</p>
