PROMPT: explain acedemic performance if it doesn’t accurately reflect you as a student.

Having local, national and world softball tournaments during the school year involves missing school days and unfortunately that has affected my academic performance. Freshman and sophomore year I had no idea how to balance the two out especially because I loved being successful in softball. When I had two separate week long tournaments during Junior year, catching up in some of my classes was difficult but being in my IB Support class helped me prioritize what I needed to do. I knew I had to make that balance in order to have a successful spring semester especially after I saw my fall report card, and I did.
I figured out the balance between school and softball by deciding that when I come back from my tournaments I needed to spend lunches and breaks talking to and working with teachers to get help or understand the material better. Also being in my IB SUPPRT class was a huge help and motivation because it helped me learn to become more organized and that I needed to prioritize what I do. Quickly I noticed my teachers appreciation for my effort and I started learning how to balance the two biggest things in my life: softball and school. I went from a 2.0 to a 3.0 GPA because of the effort I made to better my academic performance.
Although I didnt make the effort to learn how to excel early in high school because I was doing so well in softball, eventually I did and I still am. My transcript might not be as pretty as one might want, but it doesnt accurately reflect that as a student I am progressively growing and learning how to become a better student. I can feel myself starting to reach my potential and I feel myself becoming a better writer and pushing myself to the limits. I know there is more to accomplish as a student and I know that I will continue to do so.
