I HATE duvets and could never fathom a down comforter (southern living + menopause). For the summer months, I bought a lightweight quit from Quince that I’ve been really happy with. I’m thinking I will try one of their slightly heavier versions for winter. Sheets are Brooklinen.

My summer ‘comforter’ is not down but some microfiber thing. It is so thin now it’s like having two sheets sewn together - in other words perfect. My winter down comforter is at least 30 years old, bought from Macy’s, but it too hot for the summer. My bedroom is in the basement where there is no heat or cooling . In the summer I have a fan, in the winter I have a space heater, but the space heater is too hot to leave on all night, so I often just put in on for an hour before I go to bed and then the room gets colder and colder all night. I love it cold, so need the down comforter and a bunch of extra blankets too.
