On my application, I selected ChemE and Business Admin. As my first and second choice major respectively. However, they were both just filled, so I changed my first and second choice major selection to CompE (CompSci track) and EE respectively. I wanted to know if it was easy to switch back into ChemE, or if it is nearly impossible. Also, I wanted to know if I still had a chance at getting into these majors (CompE and EE) or if they fill up extremely quickly as well. Thanks!

EE will have spots, not so sure about compE. Track B is the most different from the other two tracks so if you’d like to transfer back to ChemE I would try and choose a track A major. Switching back shouldn’t really be a problem, but talk to an advisor in the chemE department to do what they say is best.

My first choice was ChemE, 2nd was PetroE, both were full, ubt I switched to EE no prob.

My roommate is in EE but wants to switch to ChemE. It will be no problem. The intro engineering class is really not that big of a deal, and I would bet if you sat with a counselor and talked to them about it they would tell you the same thing. It is a class meant to figure out who is willing to do work, nothing more nothing less.

Thanks a gig 'em!

ME was my first choice, EE second. But I liked the material so I’m pursuing EE.

Track B is definitely different…its basically an intro for future EE classes(circuits, digital logic, electronics, some computer related stuff…). Labs completely different as well…consist of mostly building circuits on breadboards. If anything it’ll help prepare you for phys 208 (Electricity and magnetism)

Heres a link: [ESSAP - Changing Majors](http://essap.tamu.edu/change-major.htm)

Thanks! I’m still unsure of what it is I’d like to pursue, so I might not change. But I’m just a huge fan of Chemistry. That link’ll come in handy if I do decide to switch.
