So never once contacted?

I know that when a college contacts you, it means nothing other than they ordered your score bracket from the SAT or ACT.

But what does it mean if a university NEVER contacts you?

I’m applying to Stanford and I feel I might really like it there but I noticed I’ll get a mailer or an email from all the other colleges, (the Ivies, the top liberal arts colleges, etc.) but Stanford seems to be the only university in the country that I’ve never gotten anything from.

Does this mean I’m not in the bracket of scores they ordered and my scores aren’t good enough to be considered? Should I not apply?

Does this happen with anyone else? At any college even? Is it a Stanford thing?

“Should I not apply?” So you haven’t applied yet…?

I did actually. That was a gaffe on my end. I meant “Should I have not” applied. Like should I even be expecting any positive admissions decision?

Honestly, Stanford is a long shot for everybody… But no, I don’t think I got any mail from them either, and my score was on the extreme high end. It might just be that they don’t spend substantion amounts of money on outside PR/marketing firms- they know they don’t need it.

Same. I think I only received one piece of mail from them, yet I got in REA this year.

Most of the colleges to which my son applied sent nothing other than confirmation of info received. If Stanford does this, and you are not getting ANYTHING from them, you might want to make sure they have your things.

I never got one from Stanford before applying. I got in.
Getting an email BEFORE applying is not an indication whatsoever.

It’s January 16th, and I have yet to receive an email from Stanford. Is anyone else in the same boat?

I submitted on deadline.

The email I received from Stanford told me to go to https://axess.stanford.edu. There, you click on “Check Application Status” (located on the left-hand side), whereupon you will be prompted to enter the email associated with your CommonApp account. After that, Stanford will email you within 24 hrs the current status of your application and notify you of any missing documents. Hope that helps!

We got tons of promo mail from everybody and it went up 10 fold from the big boys after getting the National Merit results. Some of these schools spend a ton on their marketing collateral. Columbia sends brochures that are like books and I think Duke has the most beautiful/impressive marketing pieces, amazing photography and layout. Just sayin…

@PWang: Thanks for the instructions! but I’m still getting “Email Address Not Found (21000,222)”

I’ll call the office today. A part of me is telling me it’s probably because they have thousands of applications to process, but I’m still worried…

And it finally just worked!

Phew. Some credentials haven’t been processed yet, but I’m not worried. All I wanted was a simple confirmation that they have my application, and I’m glad I got it!

Well, I still haven’t got my confirmation…
I checked the axess website and found my information processed successfully…
But why no confirmation…
Is anyone else in the same boat and should I contact the office of admission?
