<p>Ask this on the reading thread. Are you referring to the teacher one? I think I said gauging interest but I can’t really remember on this for some reason.</p>
<p>I said gauging her interest too, but I also see the argument for joking. But while taking the test i remember thinking it was obviously gauging her interest. The main argument for joking is that he didn’t mean she would ACTUALLY have to play it 1,000 times (but that’s an assumption), and that he smiled after he said it. However, I interpreted the smile meaning that he was smiling because he was happy to inform her that her recording was accepted.</p>
