You have a gorgeous GPA, my friend. Congratulations!

However, the SAT scores are just not equal to your GPA and your RIC–have you thought about taking them again? In addition, are you planning on taking any SAT II Tests?

The competitive cycling is a hook, and I think that BU would love to have you. However, Northwestern is very competitive and your SATs will have to go up to the high 1400s. I’m from the NE, so I know about these schools, but I’m sorry I can’t help much with the ones in the west.

Well, the thing that killed my SAT score was the math score. I’ve taken the standard math classes (nothing honors or accelerated) and busted my ass for the A’s I’ve gotten in math, and even then I got a B in algebra.

I’ve taken the SAT twice and gotten the exact same score both times, so I know that’s not going to go up much, certainly not ~100 points.

EDIT: And I know NW is a strong reach (as is Reed), just wondering if it’d be even worth my time to apply.

You could add a few more reaches/slight-reaches to your list. You’ve got competetive stats and if you’re essays are as good as you say, then you’ve got a decent shot at most schools.
