so whats the deal? second most popular major after biology… is it too theoretical or is it more towards business/accounting/managerial?

Straight economics is always theory based. Look here to see the areas of emphasis possible at UCSD.

Note that the article said the tutor was availble for over 30 different classes.

Sorry, I mentioned the tutor from an article posted in another link. To avoid confusion I will post the same link here:

so in simple words can u just tell me what my options would be?

Have you declared a major? What schools are you accepted into? No one here can tell you what your options are, you need to look at them for yourself and make your own decisions. Just make sure you do your research and make an informed choice. If you are not into learning about economic theory what other majors are you interested in?

I want to be an accountant. I’m majoring in Economics. But I don’t know if it’s the right major. Is it?

I assume you plan to get an MBA after you finish your undergrad work? If so, then Economics is great for your undergrad major. You could also go with Math Economics or Managerial Economics (I think) @ UCSD.

Just for clarification, at UCSD it is not Managerial Economics, it is Management Science.

Thanks for that clarification, I was not sure. :)
