Sounds like it, doesn’t it? And me, with 19- and 22-year old sons. I’m getting a stomachache.

well you should be more informed before you start the scare tactics. Just like before the 2004 elections it was the big thing for dems and liberals to claim that the re-election of bush will lead us to a draft (which is yet to be reinstated) they are at it again but this time with lebanon. America has no intention of having a heavy precense if any kind of presence. Its mostly going to be led by french/turkish troops from other euro countries and SA countries. O i thought i should also let you know that the only ones in congress that want a draft are actually democrats (see congressmen charles rangel.)

scare tactics?
Who implied we needed a draft, afterall recruitment is up right?
It wouldn’t be appropriate for us to have a stron g presence
There needs to be a dmz, with a neutral party, perhaps China, keeping the peace- the US would hardly been seen as a peacekeeper

Looks like the French want to go in to Lebanon after a ceasefire. I would rather see French than American troops wasting time and money in Lebanon.

recruitment is up in all branches of armed forces except for army. The 2nd poster seemed to imply she was nervous about a draft. It would be a crazy idea to let communist china keep the peace in lebanon. i think the best would not be a UN contingent, but a NATO one. With a heavy israeli precesnse on their own northern border. The UN cannot be trusted after it sat by and videotapped israelis being kidnapped, denied the existence of tapes, then refused to hand them over, and finally allowed israelis to veiw edited versions. In addition they never handed over scores of evidence found. See the UN didnt want to violate its own neutrality. Those scumbags.
