So, what if i worked there all summer, but i made no formal visit

I haven’t gone on a campus tour

but i’ve worked there all summer {research assistant}, so i kind of know everything there without a tour [since i’ve spoken with professors/students (undergraduate and graduate)]

will they hold it against me

I really don’t think the Penn admissions committee would do that. In fact, I did a similar thing with Harvard: I did the summer program in 2008, but I never went on a campus tour/info session (they also had an info session during the summer for the students in the program). Honestly, schools like Penn and top fifteens don’t really care about demonstrated interest; they want the best possible class, but you obviously have the interest part as well, it is just expressed through a more original and dedicated way.

No way - they won’t. I did that too and I got in ED 2 years ago. You should mention in your essays/app that you worked at Penn, and have taken time to explore the campus.
