So what present do YOU want this holiday season?

All the SodaStream flavors are made with sucralose, even the non-diet ones. But you can add anything you want to the carbonated water, you don’t have to use SodaStream’s flavorings. The way it works is you make the carbonated water and then add flavor, if you want. I like plain soda water.

Anyone remember that Edgar Eager book “Half Magic”? Kind of fun reading through these wishes with that in mind…

Yes, having D find a job would be awesome, especially if it’s in her field. More props if she learns in it.

Actually, before she gets a job, I just hope the new doc will help get her healthy–it’s been SO long since she was healthy–we’re all forgetting how wonderful those days were over a dozen years ago.

CT1417 thanks for checking. A friend of mine works at Roku and has offered to get me a unit, but I really don’t want another unit. I’m thinking maybe my LG box can open a browser and then I can stream amazon from that. Will try that at some point.

I bought a SodaStream as an impulse buy last week. I never do impulse buys, but it just looked intriguing. It came with 2 bottles of flavorings and a bunch of samples. I haven’t used any of them. I just buy a can of frozen limeade and pour about a teaspoon of it into a glass, then fill with soda water. I love it! Use your 20% off coupon at BB&B.

Wellspring, interesting. So all you’re really doing is making carbonated water with the Soda Stream. Wouldn’t it just be easier to buy club soda or sparkling water? What is the advantage of this machine?

I think one advantage of the machine is you are not putting all those plastic bottles into the landfill.

Got S1 a soda stream 2 years ago for Christmas. He loves it. It makes selzer from tap water and is much cheaper than buying quarts of selzer. You can also buy the flavor mixes, which are soda concentrates and add AFTER you have carbonated the water.

It has saved us lots of $$, as S1 would open a can of soda and not drink all of it. He seems to drink all that he makes. I also don’t need to carry a huge inventory of various sodas, as his tastes change from root beer, grape, cream to ginger ale in a day.

I bought the initial machine at BBBY with a 20% off coupons. I buy the concentrate refills from ABT Electronics, as they are the cheapest, no tax for us and free shipping on orders over $25, which is only 6 bottles.

[Search Results | Abt Electronics](<a href=“Abt.com Search”>Abt.com Search)

The other big advantage of Soda Stream is the small footprint the concentrate bottles take up. No lugging soda home from store and storing it in the basement until you need it.

I would like either a new coffee table ( from a wonderful furniture maker in Lancaster County, Pa ) or a tavern sign from an artist I have discovered, also from Pa.

Here’s your dress shirt…no iron…short sleeve.

^^^ THANKS!! Guess I’m going to be shopping online tonight while H is at the Cowboys/Bears game!

Do you have any experience with these?? Are they truly no-iron??

Hmmm…link should take you to oxfords…

These are great shirts. Yes. No iron. Very, very good buy. Look great out of the dryer.

So the link won’t take you to oxfords but that is what we buy. Oxford classic dress shirts. Find your way to the page. I think you get 20%off right now and free shipping.

The link worked, then I used the ‘short-sleeve’ filter.

Just went upstairs to look in H’s closet. I’m embarrassed to say what he has, but it’s a LOT of polos of various colors (and some with stripes)… 21 in just solid colors, but some of them are SO old, and, in my eye, look sort of faded. He also does have some short-sleeved dress shirts, but none from LL Bean, and again, some are probably 15 years old and looking their age. But he absolutely hates throwing anything away, so I don’t know how many of these he actually wears, and how many are in the closet but have been just hanging on hangers for years. Some are just plain UGLY!

Then there’s his Hawaiian shirt collection because he has deemed Fridays during the summer as “Aloha Fridays” and encourages everyone in his department to wear Hawaiian shirts. Aloha Fridays only happen the first Friday of the month during the winter months.

Santa already brought me my present. A lightweight down hoody for hiking, snow shoeing, etc. and around town.

[Marmot Quasar down hoody](http://www.backcountryedge.com/images/PRODUCTATTRIBUTE/large/marmot-mens-quasar-hoody-dark-azure.jpg)

Weighs 11 ounces and stuffs into its own pocket.

The soda stream does just make seltzer water, but at a fraction of the cost of buying it, plus you don’t have all the plastic bottle waste. I’ve never used the flavors. I just add some lemon or lime juice to my seltzer and I’m happy. I have mine at my desk, and it’s SO much easier than carrying bottles in to work. It is a bit loud though, so I always make my seltzer first thing before most folks get in.

I’ve changed my mind Santa. I want a Sodastream. I am addicted to sparkling water.

I thought Sodastream was just another gadget, but it happens to make delicious tasting seltzer. I was surprised at how much better than the store bought kind it really is.

Hmmm, maybe my mom would like this, since she enjoys carbonated water, but don’t think she wants more “things” in her life.

Actually I just thought of one more present I’d like, but I doubt it will happen. I wish my two daughters would get a professional portrait done of themselves together, and have it nicely framed. I would LOVE a present like that. But with one living on the east coast and one living on the west coast, I don’t know how it could happen!

I got the idea as I was doing some online shopping tonight, and came up with a great idea for D2; when she and her SO were here this summer, he commented that they had very few pictures of the two of them together, so I took a few pictures with my camera (as opposed to iPhone) and emailed them to them. For Christmas, I chose one of those pictures, am printing out a 4x6 at Walgreens, and will frame it.

Anyone ever heard of a Nutribullet? My son loves to make smoothies, thought this would be perfect.

http://www.nutribullet.com/

My daughters are partial to the mini ninja master prep (was on sale at target for $29, usual price $49) which was a Christmas present last year. It does a great job on smoothies and salsa.

H wears short sleeve shirts a lot. He likes Nordstrom branded ones as well as ones from Eddie Bauer. He irons everything whether it needs it or not, but both come out of the dryer looking pretty good. The Nordstrom ones are only sold during spring and summer, which doesn’t help you now. Heavier weight fabric is the key.
