So what present do YOU want this holiday season?

To answer the question from three pages ago - mine were fleece lined tights.

Soda stream - by all accounts actually works.

How much do the C02 canister refills cost for Soda stream? Sounds expensive from what I’ve read.

If you buy a new canister every time it would be expensive. But you can trade in your canisters and get a discount. Combine that with the ubiquitous Bed Bath and Beyond coupons and it’s very cost effective.

limabeans, I can vouch for the nutribullet. Perfect for one large smoothie, compact, works like a charm and the container goes right into the dishwasher. I actually bought a second to have a back-up. We do tons of smoothies at my house and this is the easiest blender for that purpose. Can’t be bothered to pull out a huge blender for a couple of smoothies.

I asked for a “pretty” professional rolling bag for my laptop for work. I’m hauling it in an over the shoulder bag every day and frankly, it is painful. I sent my dad a link to one I wanted on Amazon and an Amazon box came for me the other day so I believe that’s what it is. He told me not to open the box because he shipped it right to me from Amazon. I’m tempted to start using it now though. Very tempted. He lives in Florida- he’ll never know. But, I won’t have anything to open Christmas morning if I open the box now. I don’t think the kids can afford to get me anything (and I’d rather they saved their money for their necessities anyway, honestly).

I just bought myself a new set of pots and pans. Gave it to D to wrap up for me. H hates shopping, I hate surprises. (H will be surprised what he got me, and I’ll get exactly what I want/need. That’s what I call a merry Christmas.)

If I don’t get a new iPad, I’m going to be very annoyed with Santa. It’s the ONLY thing on my list!

Cappuccino: does anyone have a recommendation for frother steamed milk froth-er? I usually drink my coffee black and I’m not in the least bit interested in getting one of those coffee makers that requires little expensive pods. But, I would love to get a good (cheap) frother for those times when a little something special would taste delicious.

limabeans, thanks for asking that question. I’ve got no answers for you, but Santa is going to put a Nespresso Pixie set from W-S under my tree (after I wrap it up :)), so I’m all ears, too! I want to know if the milk frother that came with the machine is any good. Any Nespresso fans or haters here?

BB the milk frother works well. That was my gift from son.

I just don’t have any ideas about gifts this year. D is a grad student, and poor, so always just wants money.

Next week S, his wife and the baby arrive to spend the holidays. I’m just hoping we all have a great time. I saw them during the summer, but D and H haven’t seen them since this time last year, when the granddaughter was only weeks old. Thank heavens for Skype!

I sort of did get a gift already. Since I am retiring in June, H and I are planning a European river cruise in September. First time I am not limited to summer travel.

Cheap milk frother? A manual egg beater. I bought mine at Bed Bath and Beyond… tried them all until I found one that rotated easily. I use it all the time. Perfect for whipping just a bit of milk or cream or half and half. (I love to float some lightly whipped cream on hot chocolate.)

Finally getting back to this thread.

So yeah, inparent, #54, it is time to give a list. I have started these lists the last several years after being frustrated at Christmas. Then I forget the list, buy the items on the list, become disinterested or the list items on the list become outdated or obsolete. Haha!

I guess I need to start the list in September!

Back to what I want— I DO NOT KNOW. But I think my D’s are buying me the vacuum. (Not a Dyson as suggested . Already own a big Dyson. Don’t think I need a $300 cordless vac. Maybe will be sorry. But saw hundreds of 5 or 4 star ratings for the one I asked for.)

I would also like something I can buy but won’t. Specific name brand watch or bag, etc. Haha.

I wanted my decent tools I have finally acquired to stay at MY house…both my boys bought houses this year. So…I went shopping for them at Home Depot and Lowe’s and bought them all the stuff they might “borrow” from my house!

And…I (oops mean H) bought me the Louisiana silverware I posted upthread :)

Opened our gifts early - new iPad is Fantastic! A few glitches in the iCloud update that I hope will resolve overnight… like the 3,482 messages in my inbox.
But it’s beautiful, light, fun! I sound like a commercial.

Should I take it as a bad sign that my H asked me to order an item for his friend on Amazon for him because he doesn’t want to set up his own account? I guess I can assume I’m NOT getting the Kindle Paperwhite I asked for!!!

EPTR - No worries. He can get it in a B&M store like Best Buy.

bookworm, thanks! I think I will keep the gift if that’s what Santa is going to put under the tree. ;)

MorrisMom- my Dd started lists for us all on Google Docs, everyone is supposed to keep editing it year round, big things, little things, ideas to buy yourself, not just gifts.

So far it is working pretty well.

Four successfully completed classes.
