<p>Did you see the article in the New York Times where three professional dancers from NYC critiqued the show and the dancers?</p>

<p>How interesting that the pros favorite was Melanie, who also appears to be the favorite of the voting audience.</p>
<p>^^ We don’t know that she’s the voters’ favorite. All we know is that she’s never been in the bottom. IMO the producers are trying to foster the impression that she’s been the top vote-getter every week, but there’s no way to know if that’s the actual fact.</p>
<p>You’re right, that’s why I said “appears”–she also often gets the biggest reactions from the live audience, for whatever that’s worth. But I’d bet my bottom dollar that the top vote getter is either Melanie or Sasha. (I also have no idea who actually votes on reality show competitions–certainly not me.)</p>
<p>A couple weeks ago, when Melanie and Sasha danced the last dance of the evening together, side by side, I thought Melanie was the better dancer. Her kicks were higher, her lines were better, she was definitely the stronger performer of the two.</p>
<p>Melanie went to HS not far from here, and several people I know have kids who know her. There is a big "wtch the final episode " event going on at the gym.</p>
<p>Interesting show so far! I was worried when Melanie and Marko’s disco routine went so badly, but then Sasha and Tadd’s cha-cha was way worse so I think they cancelled each other out there. </p>
<p>Anyone think Marko might sneak in and win this thing?</p>
<p>^I don’t think so, mom. I’m not even sure he’s even America’s favorite male finalist, that distinction possibly going to Tadd. On the other hand, he could end up going head to head against Melanie and then losing. I’d still like to see Sasha win it. Wouldn’t be the first time the most technically gifted and best dancer (Melanie) didn’t take home the “America’s favorite” title.</p>
<p>I had rehearsal tonight, so am still watching behind…so I have not yet seen the Sasha/Tadd cha cha yet.</p>
<p>But i thought the disco issues were with Marko having difficulty lifting her, not with Melanie. Just my opinion…</p>
<p>Frist, Katie Holmes looks like she was at the mall and got a call to come in to guest judge and she just walked in from there. Hair? Makeup?</p>
<p>I’m only two dances in and am already angry…Melalanie gets disco and Sasha gets the “important” dance. They did that last year…in the last couple of shows, Lauren got the cool, important dances and Kent got all the light weight ones.</p>
<p>Jeez, why did the disco have to have so many lifts? Ridiculous.</p>
<p>What in the world happened with that cha-cha? I am surprised neither Sasha or Tadd did any better than they did; it looked horrible and I am not a paid dance critic ;-)</p>
<p>I am behind watching as the dogs did not think I should be parking my butt on the sofa to watch tv; they wanted their evening walk that my husband provides, but he is at a meeting!</p>
<p>What did you think about Cat Deeley putting Kenny Ortega on the spot about casting Melanie in the Dirty Dancing remake? Actually, I think she’d be a perfect choice if she can act on camera.</p>
<p>Katie Holmes is useless as a judge. The only guest judges that I think have been any good were Lady Gaga and Jesse Tyler Ferguson. They offered constructive criticism and were entertaining. Katie Holmes is just repeating the same meaningless comments.</p>
<p>Loved the Melanie/Sasha duet but the Tadd/Marko dance didn’t do anything for me. I think I want Melanie to win but really, I’d be happy with any of them.</p>
<p>What a horrible night. Only Melanie’s solo was good. Melanie should win. Coming from a school with the national stepping champions I have to say the last dance was possibly the worst of the season for me. What a shame and disappointment. I didn’t think the disco was that bad. Mario showed how bad he is at non contemporary. Broadway was horribly acted and he can’t do lifts. Plus I hate his mom. Lol. I hope either of the women wins. </p>

<p>I enjoyed Melanie and Tadd’s number. Melanie and be the demure female or she can take control and lead; she really does get into her dances and that is where the others don’t excel.</p>
<p>I want melanie to win but I just clicked on the #sytycd hashtag on twitter and was flooded by tweets of people praising/putting up the call number for Sasha. I never connected to her. Am I missing something?</p>
<p>Worst finale, ever. What a huge disappointment.</p>
<p>I hope Sasha wins. I did not connect with any of the dancers this year, but she seems to be the one who did the best across the different styles of dance. Her dance with Twitch is the only real memorable number of the season.</p>

Melanie’s Broadway with Tadd (if you ignore his presence)
Melanie’s Hip hop with Twitch</p>
<p>Nothing more, nothing less. Haven’t been this disappointed since the freestyle round of DWTS season 12</p>
<p>^None of Sasha’s dances this season were memorable for you Interficio, not even her hip-hop routine with Twitch or her contemporary dance, using the wall, with Kent?</p>
<p>I’m not a Sasha fan (we call her rage-dancer), but I think her routine with Twitch was the best routine of the season. The show was definitely under-whelming. I kind of hope Marko does sneak in and take it all.</p>
