So when will they split up the couples ? Do you all remember All Star Sasha ? How will they select the best solo dancer ?

So go to youtube and watch Pasha ( not Sasha ) and Anya doing a hot dance that is a remake of their original audition to " Magic Carpet Ride " That has to be one of the BEST numbers EVER on this show ! I just watched it 3 times in a row-it’s that good !

I was sorry to see Miranda go. She’s not flashy, but I think she might have been the best dancer of the season. She’s more delicate and subtle than the other girls, but just as technical. Unfortunately, being partnered with Robert meant she couldn’t show her stuff much. Imagine her with, say, Mitchell. She wouldn’t have gone home last night.

I was also sorry to see Miranda go. I thought it would be Ashley.

It seems that the judges are reluctant to split up couples. (Has any couple been split up so far?) I don’t remember that from previous years.

Just curious - do any of you ACTUALLY pick up a phone and vote ? I didn’t think so .I think people over 35 ,don’t vote and like the ballroom and Broadway better .Too much hip-hop for me ,and that’s why classically trained dancers like Mitchell done fare as well ,which is too bad .

I vote when and if I get really attached to someone and if I care who wins. Last year my girls adored Kent and dislilked Robert so we voted for Kent as many times as we could. The previous cycle we loved Jakob and Russell, and we knew that Jakob was a better dancer but that “America” would choose Russell so we didn’t vote.

I always vote online but only cast one vote each week. Who gets my vote depends on who I think dances the best that week.

Anyone seen " Strictly Ballroom " ? Right up there with Dirty Dancing as amazing dance movie .

I DO vote! Last year I voted by phone and now just online. I sit and take notes on each dance and vote on the ones I love…

I’m wondering how many (female) guest judges declined an invitation to be on tonight’s show… Carmen Electra?!

Move over Marko and Melanie, I’m really starting to love Jess and Clarice as my favorite couple!

Carmen is actually doing a nice job with her critiques, imo.

Enjoying the couple mini-bios before each performance.

Jess and Clarice are one of my favorites as well, but Melanie and Marko are still my top. Just hope they don’t get complacent.

I hate that the hip hop piece that the girl with the half-shaved head (the one with the dancer sister…argh, can’t think of her name!!!) did was so bad. It really was bad choreography and Nigel said as much. “It was like, hip-hop 101”, or something like that. Yikes! I bet THAT choreographer does not return!

Ugh–too many contemporary dances last night. (I don’t care if you call it lyrical hip hop or whatever, it’s still contemporary to me.) I first fell hard for this show in its early seasons when in any given episode you’d see a a big variety of dances–mambo, West Coast jive, Viennese waltz, krump, you name it. Now between the lack of variety and the dopey guest “judges” who can barely string two sentences together, the show is rapidly fading for me. (And if I have to watch Ryan galumphing across the stage for a few more weeks, I may have to give up entirely!)

Mitchell has been my favorite guy all along, but I haven’t been sold on Caitlyn (sp?) until last night. She was so light and lyrical, and she perfectly set off his strength. She danced with abandon, and IMO that number was spectacular.

Also loved Ryan and Ricky.

I wasn’t impressed with Melanie and Marko; the dance was heavy and disjointed. And to be honest, Melanie’s “What!?! You really liked us??” face is getting a little old.

Way too much hip-hop and krump . Don’t see dancers being given enough " stretch " . I am fast forwarding through most of show now . Critiques are mostly 1 dimensional , only Nigel and Mary offer useful critiques . The girls routine was excellent . Enjoyed the blue waltz ( forgot who did it ) .

I kept thinking “how are they doing that?” And with a week’s rehearsal. Amazing.

The hip hop 101 did seem like hip hop 101…not only the choreography but the dancing. Whenever my D’s drill team does a hip hop, there are 2-3 girls up front who have studied hip hop, then the rest of them who look like what they are - jazz dancers doing hip hop steps. That’s what last night’s dance reminded me of.

What’s with some dancers having a repeat on styles already? If I’m remembering correctly, one team was doing its 2nd ballroom and another its second hip hop.

And I really wish Jess was taller. I always watch the show, thinking about the dancers’ liklihood of being hired in the future. Billy Bell was great, but couldn’t really do “manly”, which could limit his options. The dancers who look vaguely “ethnic” (like Jason Glover) would seem to be employable for both “ethnic” roles and non roles. With Jess, I just think his height will rule out lots of ensemble jobs.

Not only that, Tadd and Jordan were doing a waltz AGAIN after having done one two weeks ago. The ballroom/latin dances done this season are very disappointing. Mitchell and Caitlyn are my favorites right now. I liked Melanie/Marko’s dance but told myself not to like it because they are starting to get a conceited air. It was very unwise for nigel to put them on a pedestal so early on. I still think Marko is really hot and would do things to him you can’t even imagine… LOL

“What’s with some dancers having a repeat on styles already? If I’m remembering correctly, one team was doing its 2nd ballroom and another its second hip hop.”

“Luck” of the draw? I believe it’s a random draw up til now. Lucky for Jess that he didn’t have to do Micthell’s dance routine. I’m sure Mandy Moore would have had to compensate for his weaker upper body compared to Mitchell.

Mitchell & Caitlyn are my favorites too! Melanie & Marko didn’t impress me last night and I can’t understand why the judges continued to fawn all over them. Why have 4 judges if they NEVER disagree on anything?

I must say that last night Mary wasn’t really obnoxious last night and compared to the guest judges she seemed to offer good critique. I don’t remember her screeching at all. Maybe the producers told her to knock it off?

I read that Lady GaGa is supposed to guest judge…now THAT should be interesting!!
