SOAR at NASA

Has anyone else been accepted into the SOAR at NASA Program at the NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia for this summer?
I just got my acceptance call today and I’m pretty sure I will accept. :)

Congrats!!!

How does Soar relate to Nasa’s inspire program?

Would you mind sharing your stats and whether or not you have a connection.

1800 students applied for the 250 Navy lab internships, but it turned out that they all went of the kids of lab employees. Is Soar a level playing field, or is it a really only open to staff kids?

I’m not entirely sure on this, but I think Inspire is more of a research-focused program which offers paid internships? I believe this is one of the first years (maybe the first) that the SOAR program is running, and it is more of a “fun” exploration of aeronautics. Transportation, room, and board are all provided free by the program, and 52 students are selected to participate in the program from across the country out of hundreds of students throughout the country, according to the woman I spoke with on the phone. The program seems to be less intense than the Inspire programs, but I’m not exactly sure. I do not know anyone at all that works with NASA, I just saw the link on my state’s STEM page and decided to apply. Here’s the website of the camp: [NASA SOAR - Home](http://www.soaratnasa.org/) .

I guess the kids that are going must not be CC fans.
