So yeah, I read the other threads about Finals Clubs and drinking at Harvard and some people portrayed the school as having a lacking social life. Can any current students attest to whether this is true or not?

bump…

I think your question has been addressed in the other threads you refer to.

In short, Harvard definitely has an active social life. Finals clubs are the focal point of social life for a small segment of the student body.

so, outside of final clubs and the drinking, there is still a lot to do?

Non-alcohol events has to be one of Harvard’s strengths.

Because of the talented study body, there are so many amazing productions, concerts, benefits, and the like. Lots of dances too that don’t have alcohol (although some of the people there will likely be drunk).

I saw Cultural Rhythms a month or so ago, it’s a yearly event. Salma Hayek hosted (and she was awesome) but the highlight was definitely the student performers. I am not an arts person, but there were so many incredible acts. “Gumboots,” Indian dancing, salsa + hip hop were all amazing.

thanks for the response.

If youre looking for the typical social life in college, don’t go to Harvard.

Don’t listen to anyone who tries to convince you that Harvard has a “raging” social life.

Go to thecrimson.com and search “social life” and youll see what I mean

Have fun at Princeton.

i actually talked to a person at Harvard (my cousin’s friend goes there) and they said that the social life is not as lacking as everyone has portrayed. so i guess it just depends on the perspective…
