<p>My D currently goes to school in the city and is having a hard time finding things to do on the weekends. There are very few parties or school sponsored events and she is considering transferring to UMass.</p>
<p>Do the underage students have a hard time finding things to do on the weekends?</p>
<p>As a umass student I would say no. We are not a commuter school, about 98% of the student population stays in the area on the weekends. With that many students it’s not hard to find something to do whether you want to go to a party, watch a movie in the student lounge or just hang out with friends in Amherst or Northampton which you can get there on one of the free buses. The clubs and organizations here often throw events on Fridays and Saturdays so in my 2 years here I have never had a weekend where I’ve wondered what to do.</p>
