Around UCSD, the campus is easily walkable if you are wearing comfy shoes. Many people also ride bikes, i was there over spring break and even though there werent many people there were many bikes (on racks an such). Concerning traveling across SD, the trolley system is alright considering the size of SD, but it is fairly easy to get around some places, like its easy to go to a football game. Dont know much abut the bus system, but it is more extensive than the trolley. I dont quite understand why people dont want to hang around La Jolla, it a beautiful place with many places to hang out, the beach, shops, restaurants, parks, and many others.

THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING GOING ON AT UCSD, YOU JUST HAVE TO LOOK FOR IT. it’s ridiculous when people sit around and expect the parties to find them; you have to take the initiative to go out, meet the people, and attend the events.

if you’re into the clubbing scene, i know this week AND next week are SO FILLED with clubbing events that i cant even go to all of them (maybe just one hahah) and transportation is provided sometimes when you buy your ticket.

various colleges also put on different events. warren, for example, has a polynesian culture night on thursday with free bbq and performances. revelle is having a “recess” event where people get together and play all the old-school games you used to play on the playground. FUSION 2007 is happening next sunday at RIMAC. and john muir is hosting john muir week…that’s right…a WHOLE week of events with free food.

so those are just some examples of how not socially dead ucsd is. you just gotta be active in participating and paying attention to what’s happening at your school. imo, there really is something for everyone :)

LOL WOWEE JEE PLAYGROWND GAMES ! SOUNTHS LYK FUN!! i always wanted to go to college just to be reminded of elementary school XD

it depends on what your meaning of having a fun social time is-if it’s just hanging out w/o drinks/drugs etc. that isn’t hard to find. but if you wanna party it up all night, join a frat. i feel it’s a little socially dead (meaning i can see where the stereotype comes from) BUT it’s cuz i haven’t made the effort to meet new people everywhere i go, and if you’re like most people it’s not easy to do that. it’s kind of who you get to know, IMO. i’ve gotten to know some really cool people, but none of them are really partiers cept for a couple but i have no problem with that. if your idea of fun is just partying/living it up then i really recommend you join a frat.

i thought there weren’t any frats at UCSD?
