I’m in the midst of making a tough decision right now, and I was hoping to get a feel for the social scene.

How much of a party school is Northwestern? I’m a social person, I just don’t like to drink. Is there people there who don’t necessarily go out and party everyday and stuff like that?

My other option is Berkeley: I want to study business, so Haas and the lower price tag seem quite appealing. However, Northwestern academics are obviously no slouch themselves, and I absolutely loved the campus(not sure how I’d handle the cold). Ya, so I have a week left, and I’m just trying to get a feel for what it would be like to live at Northwestern.

Northwestern doesn’t have an undergrad business major, but if you’re okay with doing business afterward, Northwestern is fantastic. If you put some effort in, there’s usually something social you can do that doesn’t involve drinking, but depending on your major and courseload there will be some quarters where you won’t have time for a whole lot. There’s a list of groups here if that helps: [ASG | Student Group Directory](http://groups.northwestern.edu/?set=asg)

I’m not exactly the best person to address this issue because I’m a fairly recent transfer in kind of an odd circumstance (I’m off campus most of the weekends), but that’s about what I’ve noticed so far.
