Okay, so I am a real nube and I am having a hard time understanding how this all works. So I’m interested in studying Economics in the Social Sciences Division. Is this ‘major’ really that much harder to get into as opposed to International Studies (same division) OR the Humanities Division?

Right. The divisions are a holdover from the Hutchins era and mean verrrrrrry little for undergraduate purposes. There are division deans and at graduation the quads split up to celebrate by division.

I’m a double major: one major is in humanities and another is in social sciences. I think the social science major is easier than the humanities one, at least based on my experiences with my specific majors.
