I got an invitation from this organization like some other ppl on cc. It’s free to join and it kinda does have some financial benefits: discounts on amazon, etc. and maybe scholarships (although I’m not sure how willing they are to give scholarships). However, I’m wondering if this will help me in terms of college admission or life (like some elite clubs).

My question seems pretty confusing. So, in short words, is it good to join Society of Torch and Laurel?

According to its webpage, admission is based solely on test scores, which your colleges will know anyway, so it will mean nothing for admissions and less for “life”. It’s brought to you by the people who came up with the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, an organization that is considered by most CC’ers to be a waste of time, if not an outright scam. So now these folks are working the high school angle. Stay away. (And now is when we can expect a first time poster to pop up claiming to be a high school student who has benefited immensely from the organization. Stay tuned…)

Sounds like a brand new organization, which seems to be currently hunting for a director who can promote their “brand”.
If they aren’t going to give you anything in exchange for your email address, I’d pass.
