Software Engineering Majors?

IS CS the only major to be a software engineer? Or can a person major in EE and CE as well in be able to attain CS jobs?

You can do CS, CE, or EE and easily obtain software engineering jobs. Just pick your courses in a relevant area. IE embedded systems, not power electronics.

Probably CS best prepares you for a software job though...

On the other hand if you want a software job why are you doing EE? Get an EE job if you like it, if you know what I mean.

Yeah, I figured EE was somewhat of a stretch. Odd as it sounds, my dad won't let me major in CS, but he will allow CE, EE, etc. So I want to get as close as possible while not being solely educated in programming, some hardware would be nice.

Software Engineering is the process of producing software through a structure set of phases. You do NOT need to major in SoftE to be a software engineer. That is just a title.
