I need to be able to print my own professional flyers and brochures. Any ideas on what the best software for this is? I would also like to be able to design and print my own postcards, as well.

If you can afford it, I’d get a graphic designer to help you create flyers/brochures–it would be a one-time cost. If this is for a new business venture, you want to put forth a professional image and these materials should reflect that. One way to save money would be to look for help from a graphic design student. Students often need to design materials like brochures/flyers/posters as class assignments. There are lots of do-it-yourself programs for creating these materials, but they don’t allow for much creativity–you’re limited in what you can do unless you use a program that a graphic designer uses. These programs are much more complex and it takes beginners a while to get up to speed. Even when they do, they often don’t have a good eye for design. I know this sounds negative and isn’t really an answer to your question, but if you are going to use these materials for a business venture, I really wouldn’t go with the typical software programs. You can spot these a mile away and your stuff will look like hundreds of others.

The company I work for does have a graphic designer on staff, but he is awful. It takes weeks of revisions to get it right, and even then, I’m unhappy with the results. Frankly, it would be much easier to do it myself. Since my flyers would be changing all the time, it wouldn’t be cost effective for me to go to another professional. I understand you pay for each change. Is there no consumer software that creates professional-looking work?

Do you want photos, clip art or both?

[Apple - iWork - Pages - Create beautiful documents in minutes.](Pages - Apple)

you probably already have the software you need.

Uses Pages for the word processing on a Mac, but go to a high quality printer and use glossy paper for the brochures.

Pages is easy, looks professional and when you want to make changes to design or content (which you will, at some point), it is on your computer.

I will be using photos from my digital camera. I have both an HP Notebook and a MAC. I need to be able to create real estate flyers and brochures.

I use Microsoft Publisher to create real estate brochures.

Realbird.com its free and I even attach the flyers to create individual property websites.

Easy to use too!
