Softwares an Brown

I was just browsing http://software.brown.edu/dist/sw-win.html and while a lot of softwares are listed (including Flash, Photoshop, etc.), in many softwares’ licenses (e.g. Flash) it’s written that the use of the software is prohibited.

For e.g.

Flash
Help Desk Support: Installation only.

Tasks Supported: Installation of the application on supported operating systems.

Tasks Not Supported: Function and use of application

http://software.brown.edu/dist/w-studio8.html

Anyone know what’s the deal? Is the use of such softwares prohibited? Why are they on the website then?

Of course it’s not prohibited, that just means that the Brown computer services aren’t going to take technical support calls on Flash not working. Any licenses that have student licenses are for students to use.

Edit:
For what it’s worth, we don’t add an “s” to software to pluralize. It’s just software, always, singular or plural.
