I am an international applicant applying for class of 2014. I have been taking solo-singing courses at school these apst two years and performed several times, but I didn’t submit any music supplement because many of the tapes ofmy performances were lost and so on. I was wondering if there are opportunities to perform in song or join singing classes at Columbia if you don’t submit a music supplement?

Solo Sin-Gig? Is that like…getting a job to be bad all by yourself? Just kidding.

Yes, of course there are ensembles for which you can audition. Their awesome mixed a capella group is one of the main reasons my D is applying. Silly? Not really. The reason is that she NEARLY majored in music, but is now only going to minor in music (is that at Barnard?), or just take classes…and REALLY wants a school that has a stellar vocal ensemble program. Yet of course also a fabulous academic education first and foremost. Columbia has all that AND is located in Manhattan. How can you lose?
