My mom and I were talking…And we came up with a plan for my senior year:

I take the minimum amount of classes required for me to graduate (English, Government, Economics, Health, Gym)…BUT, not all during the school year, and not all at my school.

Government and Economics can be taken during summer school. Health may be able to be done by correspondence, and if not, I’ll do it at school. English I can do that at the community college. Gym will be at school. If everything works out the way my mom and I want, I’ll only have to go for one period every other day (gym). In the worst case scenario that we talked about, I’ll be there for gym every other day for the entire year, and health everyday for a semester.

With a schedule like this, there are two main options: 1) Take more classes at the CC because I’ll have the time. 2) Work part time and gain some extra cash and get CNA training from a nursing home. The latter is the more likely one.

My mom and I are going to go in and talk to my guidance counselor, and my mom said she’s confident that we’ll get a good deal because the other option that we’re going to present is me getting a GED, and there’s no way in the world my guidance counselor would approve of that, therefore, she’ll do basically whatever to get me to stay in school.

I’m happy about this idea.
