Some important questions regarding college this fall

Hi,
I am an international and will be attending NC state Univ this fall. Now first let me tell u something abt myself. I’ll be doing CS with minor in Econ or Comp engg.and doing an honors program. Now by the end of first year i will most prolly be a sophomore (i.e. finish sophomore) as i will get abt 24 out of the 120 credits that i need in total coz of school work.
Now I want to know whether thru NC state i can get access to internships for Ibanks (merill Lynch, goldman, credit suisse first boston, morgan stanley etc) or consultancies (like McKinsey,BCG,AT kearney) u get the point the biggies… If i need to follow the path of contacting them myself can anyone post details about when and how i should contact the companies…
Basically after graduation i would also want to go for an MS and since i will graduate a good 6 month or year early i want to do an year worth of co-op…so here to i need advice…should i do co-op with research thingy’s in CS so that it gets me into my top choice grad schools or will doing a co-op with consultancies have similar weight to it…

You’ll really need to work hard (both academically and networking) to get a job at the top IBs and MCs coming from NC State. It’s not even on the map when it comes to recruiting.

well actually jpps1 it is a place where atleast McKinsey recruits…I mean its on their site…

anymore answers please…And let me be clear that i dont want a job after i graduate i am only looking for internships because after graduation i hope to go to MS…

“well actually jpps1 it is a place where atleast McKinsey recruits…I mean its on their site…”

And they may only take 1 or 2 students.

Hey people please tell me one thing…see i am for now going to NCSU (due to lack of finances…and being international and that too Indian there’s only .01% chance to get finaid at ivies). However i really want to do my MS at a great school. So now my question is that should i transfer out of the university after doing 2 year curriculum…( to one like GAtech or Cornell or something) so that i am in a better position for grad school…or will it really make any difference from where i finish college as long as i keep GPA high and tests and all ok (and NCSU is pretty ok rank wise too) so please tell me your expert comments…
