Correct as counties (or cities? I was not born in the US so mine is from the state dept) issue BCs and the federal government issues passports.

I’m Albanian (white) but my Mediterranean skin tone (that my siblings did not inherit so they never get this trouble) makes people guess I’m anything but white. You have no idea how many times people have said “how sad it is that she doesn’t speak spanish” even though I’m not hispanic and both my first & last name are clearly Albanian.

I hear plenty of racist stuff about whites (from non-whites, of course), all the fricking time.
