I loved that FB post.
50 shades of gray.
So cool - just like Jobs’ mock turtlenecks. Hope to do this one day.
Oh please. Does he eat the same thing for every meal every day, too, so as not to have to make any of those pesky decisions that will impede his life work? The shirts are what my people call a shtick. I have a friend who claims to never have even tasted coffee. Whenever he reveals this to someone new, he becomes the focus of the room. Shtick.
I’ve never tasted coffee. Can’t even stand the smell of it. Never really comes up though.
I’d be happy with the same clothes every day. In fact, generally when I find something I like and that fits, I buy several of them. That’s also because I’m lazy and hate shopping. (I eat more of the same things than I wear. I’ve eaten at the same restaurant twice this week and ordered the same thing each time. I’m a creature of habit.)
Who cares if it’s a shtick? I like people that like to simplify their lives
If he really wanted to have a simple life… He wouldn’t have had a kid. So I call BS.
It’s fine if it makes him happy, but he is still making a choice - a choice to wear the same thing everyday. Honestly, I don’t usually spend much time deciding what to wear but I do let the weather help me decide. Maybe he never goes outside?
H has eaten oatmeal for breakfast most days for decades. He also ate PBJ sandwiches for lunch for decades. He’s a creature of habit and frugal. I’m not a coffee fan either. I had it once but it had more milk than coffee. I’m not a fan of the aroma, but tolerate it because others love the taste.
If we have schticks, so what if we aren’t harming anyone and are productive?
Some people may want to simplify some parts of their lives in order to spend more time and energy on complex parts of their lives that they deem important (e.g. kid).

Why wait? It is not something that requires a license that can only be obtained after reaching a minimum age.

There. Fixed it.
President Obama does more or less the same thing. He has gray suits, he has blue suits, that’s it.
His wife is not following the same rule.
Yes, not many women restrict themselves to just one or two clothing options, in my experience. I enjoy choosing what I feel like wearing.
I’ve got a half doz pair of identical wool khaki trousers and a closet full of black shirts that I wear to work. I guess the only difference between Mark Zuckerberg and me is 36 billion dollars.
In my newest job I travel to client sites. It varies slightly by season/climate, but otherwise I pack and wear the same thing each trip. I love it - keeps it simple and stress free.
Love the pictures of the dog!!!
I am not mad at him; if he wears what he feels simplifies his life or it is simply what he likes to wear it is all good.
I know that i wear a “uniform” of Levis, Eileen Fisher cardigans and Tods loafers/mocs to work. They are comfortable, I look good in colors and as a 2x WTC survivor, I love the simplicity of if I ever have to walk out in the event of an emergency, I have everything I need on my person. Yeah, I got issues when it comes to these types of things, but it works for me.

@BunsenBurner if you know anyone that would like to fund the new wardrobe let me know! My high school budget’s not quite there yet
It’s a character trait he’s willing to share - good for him. We all chose the areas we want to simplify - his closet is one of his.
So, how much mental energy DO you spend deciding what to wear each day??
This is a ritual for me. I check the weather for the next day each night. Check my calendar for what I’ll be doing (at work) and who I’ll be seeing. Pick out my clothes ALWAYS the night before. Make sure all the components are there. Dress/skirt, top, sweater, tights/no tights, shoe choice, jewelry, - good to go in the morning.
I’m a creature of habit, too, when i pack. Plus I’ve got a designated “travel shirt” that looks tidy untucked and disguises crumbs & drool.
:@)
So to tie this topic back to colleges, one of the advantages of going to a military school is you don’t have to decide what to wear to classes each day.
Of course, if you don’t get the memo that uniform B is the duty uniform for the day and you wear uniform A to morning formation, then you’re in a world of hurt.
