Some Positives to Report on

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=355620&highlight=endowment

AU has the second highest percentage increase in endowment from 2002 to 2005. The data hasn’t been compiled for the recent years but I’m hopeful about the trend.

– I talked with my step-mother the other day and she told me about her cousin that went pre-med at AU and became a very successful(and wealthy doctor). This surprised me but goes to show that anyone can succeed here with the right amount of work put in.

– AU has yet another Truman Scholar. http://www.american.edu/honors/Honorable%20Mentions/May06.pdf

Kind of an old story, but its good to look for people that succeed.

Wow, great to hear about the endowment! I didn’t know that. [though I do wonder about the impact of the Ladner presidential scandal two years ago]. Speaking of which, a new pres should be announced soon.

Actually, in 2007 we have two Trumans: http://veracity.univpubs.american.edu/weekly/032707/032707_trumanscholars.html

As Ryan has shown, if you want to succeed, you can at AU. The key, like at any school is to become involved, do internships, take on leadership roles, etc. There are so many options inside and outside the classroom, on and off campus, that those that want to succeed surely can, and do.

Ryan, good luck in your own quest for success!
