I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on how to prepare for my AP physics tests (in class tests)? What problems should I do and should I buy the Giancoli student study guide?

Do all the problems assigned by the teacher. The problems are meant to get you to use the equations, if you’re teacher has any idea what he is doing, his free response test is much harder than those problems. Once you can do the assigned problems FLAWLESSLY, try some problems from the difficult/general category. You need to have a good grasp on kinematics and dynamics the entire year because a lot of free responses ask you to use the kinematics equations and determine forces.

Also, being able to do the problems doesn’t guarantee a high score. I happened to do very well on the FR portion of the last exam and nearly fail the multiple choice. If you want a high score you need to fully understand the concepts in the text. Concepts and applications are not inseparable unless you want to ace your exams or truly understand what you’re learning.

i wish i had a decent ap physics teacher he doesnt assign ne homework gives no tests and we just have a daily problem that he checks and everyone gets a 100 on gawd im not looking for the ap exam

Get a good AP review book such as Barron’s or AP Advantage for AP Physics C (are you in AP Physics C?) and do the problems and read the review content.
