some serious help

As sappy as this sounds, I’m torn bwtween a few schools. Could ya’ll maybe rank them or somethin based on the overall unergrad experience? (including academics, sports, residential life, campus appeal, etc.)

Colby
Middlebury
Bowdoin
Bates
Reed

Personally, my order of preference would be:

Middlebury

Bates

Colby

Bowdoin

Reed

It depends on what you’re looking for though. Reed, for example, is quirky and intellectual (like UChicago), is very politically active, and is quite strong in the sciences and social sciences.

Middlebury, on the other hand, has a preppier and more athletic feel, and is strongest in foreign languages and the like.

Oh, and you should really try to add a few safeties. Perhaps Bennington?

If you are a girl and shave your legs, avoid Reed. That is one weird place. What do the grads with 4 nose rings do after graduation? The other 4 are very similar, colder than hell and preppy, the opposit of Reed.

If you’re interested in studying government, Bowdoin has rather strong history/political science courses.

actually, I’m primarily interested in environmental studies…

Since you mentioned environmental studies, check out this page (if you haven’t already): http://academic.bowdoin.edu/environmental_studies/
