Sophmore

Freshman year
-Spanish 2 (H)onors - 95
-English 1 H-82
-US History 1 H- 87
-Algebra II H- 95
-Physical Science/Intro to Physics H- 99 (This class was pretty much a real junior/senior physics class (not ap, like normal or honors) because our teacher only had two classes, us and a senior physics class, and didn’t want to make a new curriculum for us. He was a great teacher, graduated from MIT or caltech, dont rememebr which one, and worked at NASA. one of those mad scientist types.)
-Health/Pool-100/95 (cant get 100 in pool, 95 max)
-Studio I- 80 (I had to take this class because the exploratories I signed up for were full. I cant draw for ****, and my teacher seriously graded on how well you drew. Which is why I did bad)

Sophomore year (transferred to a fairly presitigious private school)
These are predicted grades since we aren’t completely done,m but should be fairly accurate since the school year is almost over)
-Spanish 3 honors- B/B+ (There was a huge gap in curriculum from my public HS’s SPanish 2 to this school’s spanish 3)
-English 2 H- B
-Calc AB AP- A
-Global History- A-
-Biology 1- A
- These two classes hurt me because they were freshman level classes at my school. Basically, what I took for hist/sci at my public HS was considered soph/jr level here, so I switched the years around. This is bad because in this school, all freshman classes are normal (no honors) so even getting an A brought down my GPA a little.
-Religion- A-/A
-Health- A (not like it matters…)

EC’s:
-Frosh year- Youngest member of Varsity XC, a little better than average times
Youngest member or Varsity and 2nd fastest member of swim team, won our league championship, undefeated in 15 years, qualified for Sectionals+states (but just a relay)
-Soph year- JV XC, this school has a beast XC team, I was average JV
Varsity swimming, made sectionals+states (individually this time)
-club swimming, few records
-piano+trumpet, 8yrs, 6 years respetively
-Math olympiads high scorer 3 years
-Soccer youth league, cpt 3 years, hockey, track
-PSAT- 201, def could do better, pulled all nighter that day
-SAT- best was 2150 so far
-SSAT- 98% overall
-3rd in new england youth triathlon
-went to a military camp summer b4 9th
this camp wasn’t like boot camp for kids needing discipline, it was to teach about military life, was a once in a lifetime experience, ACA or somethinig. highest score on end of program military test >.>, presidential level fitness standards) Learned a lot of leadership skills there. We had simulated military envirnoments too, since the camp was located on a military base, we lived in their barracks, rough beds, open toilets (lol), hot temperateure, strict guidelines.
-don’t wanna add too much, rambling here.

I’m considering majoring in astrophysics, aerospace engineering, and the like. I noticed that I lack any presitigous awards and havent done thing like ARMO, USAMO, stuff like that. Iw ould prefer to do reserach instead of math contests, since I think i would learn more. Do you guys have any idea on where to start? My choices are limited since many apps are past due this time of year. I’ve also noticed that many research programs involve bio/chem topics, not many physics ones. Any ideas for a physics based research program? At the time, I think this summer will be spent at summer school so I can get ahead in some classes. I think my weird transfer student schedule hurt me a little so I’m trying to get ahead. I don’t think that with nmy credentials/EC’s I can go to something like RSI right away, so I need somewhere to start, like an easy to get into program that still provides I good oppurtinty and decent prestige. I DID apply for PROMYS this year but was rejected, since I rushed a little. I’ll also admit…videogames were my downfall. If only I could put down “Ranked number 1 in Maplestory” (or something similar)as an achievement, lol. No, I am not #1 BTW.

tl;dr: Can you suggest some ideal colleges for Math/physics/engineering (particularyly aerospace)
Know of any good summer programs I can benefit from?

My dream school is MIT(yes i know, hard to get into, but I can dream, can’t I?), and only recently have I TRULY thought about the time from now till senior year, and what I would do with that time. I am truly passionate about math/science as are most of you, yet sometimes, somethings you can’t fully express with words on paper. Thanks in advance.
