Answer: C
Fireman should be firemen. This is particularly emphasized by the “serve and protect THEIR city” so fireman has to be plural, but also because the fireman is associated with Henry and his brothers, plural, not just Henry. It can’t be “A fireman”

Answer: B
Everyone is singular as noted by the singular verb “was” that follows the subject. So they would contradict the agreement. It has to be “he or she” or something like that.

Answer: E
I find no disagreement or contradiction in this sentence. It is parallel and the comparison is equal grammatically speaking. But this is one where I would be hesitant to put the E and go back to it when I’m done with everything else to see if I missed anything blatantly obvious.

Answer: D
By placing a singular noun in relation to the plural parents, readers incorrectly assume that all those Asian American parents share one child, which is illogical. So I’m putting answer as D.

Like everyone else posted, it would have been much more helpful to see the answers since I, personally, can identify the problem once I know what the answer is… but then so can everyone else Hopefully I got them correct

“Sounds wrong” is not a grammar rule–in fact, it’s precisely the “ear test” approach the CB is punishing with its grammar questions. #3 is E, no error. Josh05 is correct on all four questions.
